Child safety
Our child safety standards
One Question, made by Get One Question Ltd, does not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation of any kind, including child sexual abuse material. This page sets out what we prohibit, how to report a concern and what we do about it.
What One Question is
One Question asks everyone the same question each day, answered Yes, Not sure or No, with everyone's results at 8pm. There are no accounts or profiles, and at present there is no way for people to message each other, post, or share pictures in the app. It is for people aged 13 and over.
What we prohibit
Any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children is prohibited in One Question, including:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind;
- grooming, or contacting a child for sexual purposes;
- sexual extortion ("sextortion") and threats;
- trafficking or exploiting children;
- content that sexualises children.
These standards apply to everything in the app now, and to any feature we add later, such as a way for people to share their views on a question. Before we add anything that lets people post or contact each other, we will add ways to report and block in the app, and review and remove content that breaks these standards.
How to report a concern
Email hello@getonequestion.com with "Child safety" in the subject. The address is also shown in the app, in Settings. Describe what you saw and where; please don't attach images. We treat these reports first.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also report child sexual abuse images online to the Internet Watch Foundation, and concerns about a child being groomed or exploited online to CEOP, part of the National Crime Agency.
What we do
When we learn of anything on One Question that breaks these standards, we remove it from One Question, keep what the law requires us to keep, and report it to the relevant authorities: in the UK, the National Crime Agency and the Internet Watch Foundation, and elsewhere as the law requires. We cooperate with law enforcement.
The law
We follow the child safety laws that apply to us, including the UK's laws against child sexual abuse material and, where it applies, the Online Safety Act 2023.
